Carder, Goal #2 – Discussion: How does theology influence structure and methods?

GENERAL COURSE GOALS – By the end of the course each participant will:

2. Develop an understanding of Wesleyan theology and its influence on the practical structure and disciplines for the first Methodists.

What questions or comments do you have about this goal?

Questions related to this goal:

– What questions do you have about how Methodism is structured? What structure? And what structure is it that is uniquely Methodist?

– What are the spiritual disciplines or practices of the first Methodists? How did they change as Methodism evolved in the USA? 

– As you review the theological statements from the Book of Discipline, what speaks to you? What would be exciting or teach or to preach about in your local church?
